Early Childhood Education
This program forms professionals of education
with the capacity of interpreting childhood knowledge theories
and educational investigation models, as well as promoting
child's development in all dimensions, taking into consideration
their responsibility towards future generations.
The program follows the laws set in the General
Education Law 115 of 1994 and the 272 Decree of 1998 by searching
for teacher development with the highest quality of scientific,
humanistic and ethical levels, understanding that the future
professional must guarantee a quality education. This could
allow the construction of a new man or woman, who is integrally
developed, a democratic, participative, pluralistic, critical,
creative, productive and self managing in society.
In this sense the graduate from Education
must develop a new teaching proposal centered on meaningful
learning, a concept of education and human and social development
that allows him/her to optimize themselves as a person and
cultural actor in this historic context, bringing a dynamic
sense of communication to into:
- The Classroom: Where teaching dialogues will
increase the integral development of a child and of oneself
keeping in mind the conditions and challenges of today's
world.
- Science: where, recognizing the historical value
of scientific knowledge, the teacher will assume him/herself
as constructor of knowledge and recognize his educational
practice as a privileged space through which he can theorize
on educational phenomenon, with the investigative demands
through which he can validate and make use of the theoretic
studies and elaborate with other students of education.
- Management: In which as a participant of a collective
society and a member of the professors board, can determine
exactly which methodology is needed in the community and
for a specific group of children, and likewise, search
and find creative solutions for the singularities and
specifics within the local, regional and national context.
Fields of Action: In the exercise of your
profession you will be prepared:
- To organize and to direct centers of childhood education
whether public or private.
- Create and/or advise educative projects in public institutions
as well as in private ones
- To organize recreational companies or projects that
lead childhood attention programs for the use of free
time in industrial, commercial and social character organizations.
- To design and implement educative programs of computer
science for scholastic centers.
- To design educative aids and materials for educative
programs.
- To participate in international organization projects
for the aid to childhood.
- To promote educative programs in favor of marginal
communities.
- To develop programs inside or outside of the classroom
for children with physical, emotional and intellectual
limitations.
- To participate in interdisciplinary equipment for the
design and development of programs in radio and television
with educative and recreational aims.
