The Masters in Business Administration of Universidad del Norte is a program oriented to the integral formation of professional executives of the Caribbean Region and the country with excellence. They should be able to commit themselves to their realities and surroundings so they could adapt and use information obtained. Also, they will leave with the capacity to respond and solve problems locally, regionally and nationally.
The overall objective is to form leaders in their administrative fields and managers with a globalized vision of businesses with an enterprising spirit to lead to the creation of companies.
OPTIONAL DOUBLE TITLE
In addition to the Masters in Business Administration (M.B.A.), the students have the opportunity to advance in their second year to obtain a Masters in International Business (M.I.B.) at Florida International University, United States, under an International Cooperation Agreement signed between Universidad del Norte and The Chapman Graduate Administrative Sciences Division. The Specialization in International Businesses of Universidad del Norte responds to the need of facing new management challenges of the XXI century, forming highly qualified professionals and executives that understand, interact and take advantage of the businesses opportunities that the new globalized world offers. The companies of today's world need to develop new markets, to learn from their competitors and consumers (locally and internationally), and use all their capabilities to the maximum. This demands new abilities and skills and a new management approach within the framework of the international businesses.
The objective of the specialization is to enable professionals of different compatible careers with Business Administration in the decision making and its international projection, to identify business opportunities, handling tools, organization, direction and control tools of the activities of the organizations in global surroundings.

Specialization in Logistic of International Transport of Merchandise
During the last years new concepts have arisen, amongst them the concept of Logistics, whose procedures and techniques constitute one of the most important approaches to manage the organizational systems from a perspective different from the traditional one. Logistics undertakes the study of materials and finished products flow and the information associated with such, from the supplier to the client. This approach includes the integrated study of basic functions of the organization, such as the management of supplies, the management of production and the management of physical distribution. Transport plays an important role within the logistic chain, basically in the supplying processes and physical distribution, nevertheless, these simultaneously bear a narrow relation to the productive processes and for that reason the transport of the logistic chain cannot be isolated. It becomes necessary to study the particularitities relative to logistic and transport and the processes generated from these, as determining factors of competitiveness.
In general, the mission of logistic systems is to guarantee the flow of the materials and products with the required quality, in the precise place and time and with minimum costs.
The objective of the specialization is to offer a program that brings knowledge and provides a development of the management abilities necessary to project chains of transport of merchandise, select the optimal alternative from an integral point of view and efficient management in agreement with the latest logistic tendencies at world-wide level.
Specialization in Public Management
The Specialization in Public Management program offers the professionals of the Colombian Caribbean region, an advanced formation in the administrative, financial and procedural aspects of Public Management, which is in acute synchronization with the fundamental parameters drawn up by the Political Constitution of Colombia of 1991 and the laws that regulate it. Likewise, with the competitions that the executive and legislative level confers to the municipalities for them to assume functions in the government, control and planning fields.
Specialization in Financial Management of Health Services
The objective of the specialization is to offer professionals of different disciplines linked to the health sector an advanced formation that allows them to improve their capacity of management, through the development of abilities in the handling of the financial resources.
Specialization in Management of Human Resources
The Human Resources area in organizations must lead development of the competences of its human talent, impel processes of change and generate competitive sustained advantages, contributing significantly to increases in productivity and flexibility.
